Meet The Team
Peter Barusevicus (AKA Polish Pete)
Road Guide, Camp Organiser, Logistical Organiser, Ride Organiser, Mechanic.
Pete started riding in 2006, after a fateful encounter with a Mountain Biking UK magazine in an airport WHSmith. He got his first road bike two years later, an aluminium Orbea Asphalt in Euskaltel-Euskadi colours. He loved this bike but after ploughing two years of part-time job wage into a snazzy carbon frame, he passed it on his skint little brother. He’s been racing for the last 7 years now, with a summer spent in Belgium. Now he races at an elite level in National races and his claim to fame is a 18:28 in a 10mile time trial without a disk wheel.
You can follow him on his blog here.
Road Guide, Mechanic, Welsh, suspicious of the sun.
Steve started racing as a junior in 1989, winning a handful of races in his first year, and in 1991 he won the Welsh junior RR champs, a stage of the Junior Tour of Ireland as well as a handful of domestic races. He was part of the CC Abergavenny team that won a bronze medal in the British 100km Team TT champs in 1992 and 1993, and went on to win the 1994 championship as part of a Welsh squad before finishing 4th in the same event at the 1994 Commonwealth Games, and 10th in the Individual Pursuit. He was also Welsh Individual Pursuit champion in 1994 and 1995, and was part of the GB Team Pursuit development squad from 1994 to 1996. He has raced in numerous international stage races, including a stage win and finishing 11th overall in the Ras Tailteann. He quit the sport in 1996 before coming back in 2015 and reclaiming his 2nd cat licence. In 2016 he have finished 7th in the National Masters RR Champs, and 2nd in the Yorkshire Masters Championships. This year he has also recorded his fastest ever 10 Mile TT with a 19:45 at the age of 43!
